Hilton Head Island Fishing With Off The Hook Fishing Charters

The fishing was absolutely OFF THE HOOK today!
What a incredible trip today catching some big over the slot redfish
that burned the drags on the light tackle. We also got several nice trout
and a few perfect slot redfish for dinner! These guys pictured above
fished with me a few years ago as well and had a great trip then but
todays trip was OFF THE HOOK for sure!

Well another challenging day with high winds and dirty water.

Winds were way up again this morning and it was pretty chilly out
there but my clients managed catch a few nice redfish despite the
tough conditions. The catch of the day was when I threw the cast net
and caught 20 monster mullet in one cast!

It felt good to get back out on the water after a week off due to bad
weather and frigid temps! This morning started off great with perfect
glassy conditions and we caught a few nice redfish with this one above
being the biggest of the day for sure! Looks like another cold front is
moving in tonight and the winds will be back up tomorrow. UGH!

Redfish the fish many aliases. When I was a kid growing up I
and everyone around here called redfish spot tails or spot tail
bass. Spot tail makes total sense but they are times and they are
far and few between where they don't have a spot on their tail
at all or they have multiple spots all over there body. This is a
shot of a fish my client Dr. Bill Miller caught last week on the
fly and what a beautiful fish it was!
Other names they can be called are red drum, puppy drum,
bull reds and channel bass. Which one do you like best?
