Family Fun!
I took some first time clients out today that am sure to be back out
fishing with me next year. The Fitzgerald's had some great inshore
action catching redfish sharks and even a huge sting ray. We even 
finished up the trip with a great dolphin sighting right next the boat!

The Heat Is On!
Today felt like what we are in for the next few months and that is
Hot weather and Hot Fishing. We started the day on my morning trip
 fishing for Tarpon and we were surrounded by them at times and just
couldn't get a hook up. That's tarpon fishing for ya! We did stay busy 
catching several species of sharks just like I did on my afternoon trip 
with The Heafey family who has fished with me before and had a 
blast catching shark in the 3-4 foot range.

Finally a break from the wind and it felt good to get back out there 
chase some fish around. My client had some good luck casting to 
redfish in the marsh grass and finished the trip catching one of 
the biggest blue fish I have seen in years!

Holy Mack The Spanish Are Back!
It's that time of the year when the spanish mackerel stack up in 
large schools on the nearshore reefs and sandbars that surround 
Hilton Head. They are a blast to catch on light spinning gear or fly
gear as well. The spanish pictured above came from my morning 
charter. On my afternoon trip we really got into them but they were
half the size of the one pictured which usually average 1-3lbs.

This fish pictured was the first fish of the day and what a fish it was

There are still some cobia out there!
The conditions this morning were excellent for sight fishing for
about a hour and I sealed the deal on this little cobia pictured
above which ended up being number 20 caught inshore this year.

There is nothing I enjoy more than fishing with kids. It is very gratifying 
to know that I am creating a memorable experience for these young boys 
that will hopefully  get them hooked on fishing for life!  Today was another 
gloomy rainy day but that didn't stop us from having a great time!

It's Tailing Redfish Time!
Nothing beats stalking redfish up in the marsh flats at high tide
and watching those tails wave like flags as they devour tiny little
fiddler crabs. My clients both caught there first tailing redfish 
this morning and what nice fish they were!

One a fish away from a Low Country Inshore Grand Slam!
All my client needed was a redfish to complete the slam but unfortunately 
the weather turned on us and made the the fishing tough. We also tried for
and hooked a few nice spanish a few miles out and missed a chance at a big 
cobia on the fly! What a slam that would have been had we got em' all!

Sometimes one is just not enough! We had some fun action this 
afternoon and keep the rods bent with some nice sharks on light
tackle but were hoping to get the redfish to bite but only got one.
The redfish have been there but I think there is so much baitfish 
in the water that you just have to get them at the right time.

I had some return clients that fished with me today from over 7 years ago 
when I was a Captain on another boat and we saw something that day 7 
years ago that I have only seen once! A giant school of big redfish in a feeding
in a frenzy! I had to dig the video up out of the archives and share it after we
talked about it  while we were out catching sharks and redfish on our trip.
Unreal!!
