Hilton Head Island Fishing  - Off The Hook Fishing Charters
8/1/11 Pic's Of The Day!
SHARK WEEK! has begun on the Discovery channel and it been going on for quite sometime right here in
Hilton Head. The water temps are in the upper 80's and the # of sharks are plentiful in our creeks, sounds
and around our near shore sandbars and my clients have been having a blast catching them on light tackle!
One of the more abundant inshore sharks is the Bonnet Head Shark pictured below with my clients from
yesterday. Bonnet Head sharks are the small cousin to the great Hammer Head and they cruise the shallows
in the creeks in search of crabs and baitfish or whatever comes there way.If you were to look in the record
books almost all of the biggest Bonnet Head sharks that have been caught in the world are caught right
here in South Carolina!

7/31/11 Pic Of The Month!
The Halloran family just emailed me this pic from last weeks trip when we had a excellent day of
redfishing early in the morning. It was one of my best redfish trips of the month catching good numbers
of keeper fish. Most of the fish I have been catching this summer have been well over the slot and thats not a
bad thing when they are to big to keep.  It's nice to know that those over the slot fish will be there for my
next clients to catch again someday.  These fish pictured were the  perfect keepers though!

Pictured above is Birthday boy Andy Kloss with one of many nice spanish we caught this morning. The
weather was hot and steamy but the action was excellent for spanish, sharks and bluefish on the light tackle.
The Kloss family fished with me last year and we had a great trip catching some nice redfish and this year
I wanted to add a few new species to their list and we did just that.  Turned out to be a great trip!

Spanish mackerel have been a blast to catch on the light spinning rods the last few days. The
spanish have been hitting live baits right behind boat at 20 MPH for everyone to see! Sharks
are also been hitting really well up top and down deep and keeping my clients busy while we
wait for a spanish mack to attack. Looking forward to the next few days trying for some tarpon.

7/26/11 Pic Of The Day!
Turned out to be a pretty nasty day out there with rain, wind and overcast conditions not exactly the best
case scenario for fly fishing but that didn't stop us from trying. Pictured above my client Hayley Davis fished
the sporting way with the fly rod and was rewarded with a with a few nice spanish mackerel. Not bad
considering the conditions! She also caught a few nice sharks on light spinning gear as well as my other
clients on my next trip that ranged from 5-15lbs.

7/25/11 Pic Of The Day!
The inshore action has been Off The Hook the last few days and there has been some serious
Family fun catching several species of fish on my last few trips. The majority of the action has
been the sharks as they will usually out number anything else that swims during this time of
the year. The spanish mackerel have moved back on the sandbars and have been the best bet
for getting some tasty morsels. I had a nice bag of fish to take home today. Yum! Fish Tacos!
