The Darby family had some pretty nasty conditions to deal with today with full moon tides along with
20-25 mph east winds and I wasn't really expecting to see many fish due to the nasty conditions but
was really surprised how many fish we saw and actually caught a few really nice redfish out of the grass
flats. We started off catching a few nice sharks and finished with some good tailing redfish action. It
turned out to be a great trip on a pretty nasty day!

It was what we call blowing stink out there today! The winds were howling out of the east at
20 mph and it was a little bit bumpy. When the wind blows that hard you have to just park it in
a creek to get out of the wind and thats just what we did. Turned out to be a great shark trip
catching five different species of sharks like black tip, bull, bonnet, reef and the rare hammer -
head shark. Pictured above top left Andrew and his Dad Doug holding a bonnet and a black tip.
Top right Andrew with a baby hammer head. It's hard to believe this shark will grow to be 10ft!

The spanish mackerel bite was on fire today  just a few miles out and my Client Jim Williams caught several
nice spanish like this one pictured on my  light spinning outfits. The action was nonstop with the mackerel
hitting the live baits up on the surface right behind the boat. Unfortunately we had to cut the trip a
little short by a hour because a big thunderstorm pushed offshore and chased us in.

Another scorcher today but there was some decent action out there on several species of sharks,
lady fish, bluefish, spanish mackerel and as you see above some nice redfish. 13 year old Jack
Wooton finished up the trip this morning catching this stud redfish pictured!

Hot and humid thats been the story the last few days. The wind has been blowing steady out of the
SW which I call the hot devil winds. The fishing has been plenty hot for good size sharks on the flats
and around the nearshore sand bars. Pictured above my clients caught some really nice redfish to finish
off the morning trip. My afternoon trip was a shark frenzy during the heat of the day but lots of fun!

Great trip this morning catching some nice sharks on the light spinning rods and went through the
rotation several times. We also saw a few nice tarpon roll up on the surface but the sharks dominated
the bite and the first spot. Next we tried for redfish and pulled this nice one pictured above and finished
the trip with a visit from one of my favorite dolphins on the way back in!
